Tommie Joe Beasley, 84, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Diversicare in Tupelo. He was born November 28, 1933 in Itawamba County to Clyde and Pauline Wilburn Beasley. He attended school in Itawamba County and served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He married Earnestine Reid on October 31, 1953 and they were married for 45 years until her death in 1999. He worked most of his life as a truck driver working for various companies. He was of Baptist faith.
Services will be 2 PM Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Luke Gardner officiating. Private burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12 – 2 Saturday. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by three sons, Tommie Beasley, Jr. of Mooreville, David Beasley (Sophia) of Marietta and Richard Beasley of Tupelo; one daughter, Brenda Watson (Jim) of Sturgis; two brothers, Robert Beasley of Grays Lake, Illinois and Billy Beasley (Jettie) of Saltillo; one sister, Jane Lacey of Verona; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Barbara Crutchfield; three grandchildren, Christie Beasley, Sydney Watson and Billy Crutchfield, Jr.; one great-grandson, Elijah Tuck Watson; three sisters, Ruby Wallace, Etta Mae Christian and Jean Mansfield; two brothers, Jackie Beasley and Jimmy Clyde Beasley; four infant sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Vernon Church Cemetery Fund, Fulton, MS.
