Saltillo – Jeffrey Lee “Jeff” Worthey, 45, died Friday, June 02, 2017, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born January 21, 1972 in Aurora, IL to Lee Brandon Worthey and Brenda Guess Perry. He was a line leader at Lane Furniture for 22 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ but he attended Old Union Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he loved boating, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed watching football and the sports channels and going out to eat. His greatest love was spending time with his family.
Services will be 2 PM Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob O’Neal officiating. Private burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Tawnya Worthey of Saltillo; one son, Jeffrey Worthey, II (Kaley) of Shannon; one daughter, Tiffany Worthey of the home; two grandsons, Jeffrey Trip Lee Worthey, III and Brody Ray Worthey; his mother, Brenda Perry (Mark) of Okolona; his siblings, Lori Worthey Davis of Pontotoc, Brandi Wise Carter (Michael) of Wren, Lee Brandon Worthey, II (Katie) of Smithville, Andy Perry (Rae) of Muscle Shoals, AL, Monica Perry (Kris) of Potocola and Angie Newcomb Mears (Chuck); his grandmother, Joyce Belle Newcomb; his honorary parents, Johnny and Barbara Newcomb of Saltillo; also, a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and he was loved by all of his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Don and Lorraine Guess, Coy and Thelda Worthey and Vester C. Newcomb.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Worthey, Dalton Mears, Chucky Mears, Andy Perry, Michael Carter and Brandon Worthey.
Visitation will be 5 – 8 Saturday.
