Obituary for Jean Wade

Wilma Jean Drummond Wade, 81, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the North MS Medical Center. She was born in the Unity Community of Lee County on January 13, 1936. She was an operator with South Central Bell for over 18 years and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She loved her church and her church family of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church where she’d been an active member since its establishment in 1971. She enjoyed working in her yard, reading and taking care of others. Jean adored all her family and friends.
Services will be 10 AM Friday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Calvin Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela D. Wade of Lakeland, TN, numerous friends and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lorene Moore and her husband of 54 years, Hulon Max Wade.
Pallbearers will be Danny Foster, Brad Foster, Kevin Foster, Gerald Bishop, John Walden and Robert Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Minor and Wayne Minor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Primitive Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 Thursday and 9 – 10 Friday.
