Viola Searcy, 94, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She was born January 24, 1922, in Tippah County, the daughter of Dan and Minnie VonCannon Christian. She graduated from Baldwyn High School. Viola and her husband, Cecil, were the owners of the Lee-Ann Restaurant and Ranch as well as the Lee-Ann Furniture Store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Guntown. Viola loved to travel worldwide, visiting places such as Greece, Spain, and Hawaii, among many others. She also enjoyed quilting and gardening.

Services will be 2 pm Friday, October 14, at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jay Stanley officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her daughter, Caroline Gausline (Richard) of Guntown; 2 grandchildren, Martin Rodgers (Tena) of Booneville and Heather Tate (Logan) of Guntown; 4 great-grandchildren, Jacob Rodgers (Jessica), Alex Rodgers and London and Christian Tate; and 1 great-great-grandson, Austin Rodgers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Cecil Cleveland Searcy; her son, Danny Searcy and his wife, Sandra; and her 5 younger siblings, brothers Roy, W.C, and Eugene and sisters, Velma and Emma Jean.

Pallbearers will be Richard Gausline, Martin Rodgers, Alex Rodgers, and Logan Tate; London Tate will serve as honorary pallbearer.
